My first blog post! And as you might've foreseen by the style of my website, it's about Skyrim.
I've been a big fan of games made by Bethesda for a long time. At least, their older titles.
I know, they have plenty of bugs and flaws, but I believe it's important to just enjoy the things you love, no matter if others think that what you love is stupid, poorly made, or whatever.
Anyway, I like fantasy settings, ever since watching Peter Jackson's adoptations of Tolkien's work on tv. This franchise has plenty of history development-wise, but the universe the game takes place in also has like, a book's worth of lore going for it.
I decided to go for a Dark Elf, "Spellsword" type character, wielding both blade and magic. I'll probably not join any of the guilds, instead focusing on helping The Empire restore order to Skyrim. But my next playthrough I think I'm gonna join the thieves guild, because being a criminal is cool.
I bought the special edition on GOG, and I must say it looks pretty good, despite clearly showing it's age. Not that I really care about the photorealistic style most AAA titles seem to strive for today anyway.
I've made it to Whiterun, where the jarl's court wizard send me to fetch a stone or something from an old ruin near Riverwood. After the whole "help Whiterun and become Dragonborn" stuff is over with, I'll take a ride to Solitude to join the Imperial Legion.
After I have exausted their quest line, I'll go to the Greybeards and continue the main story, see if things change if the civil war has been dealt with before completing it.
This is where my first post ends, for I don't have a lot to say this early in the game. I'll let you know if anything interesting happens though.
Oh, and here's a screenshot of my character!
